Meet Teddy, the ginger ninja! At nearly 5 years old he is a resident cutie within FF as he is one of our palliative care cats. Teddy loves life and lives it to the full, whether it be hiding in his tunnel and jumping on his feline siblings, relaxing in his catio or having a cwtch with his foster mum. Teddy came to Forgotten Felines at 14 weeks of age as a very poorly kitten after ingesting human iron tablets. He was making a good recovery but at his routine neuter, irregular breathing picked up a problem and Teddy had a scan on his heart. He has been diagnosed with a condition called hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, (an enlarged heart and heart muscles). As if this wasn’t enough, a diagphramatic hernia was also discovered. As he has matured, Teddy has developed a blocked tear duct and has become more prone to infections and tummy/intestinal issues but he continues to defy the odds and is determined to use more than his nine allotted lives! Teddy’s complications mean that he does not have the life expectancy that he deserves, but he ensures that he gets the best from life, loving his food, his bed, a windowsill with a good view, and of course plenty of rest! He will continue to be cared for by Forgotten Felines for as long as he needs. Teddy is such a loving boy and an absolute purr machine who talks with every ‘floof’ of his tail!
Teddy is in our long-term foster program and receives ongoing care with us.
